About Denarau

Denarau provides lending, mortgage, and funds management services to both investors and borrowers through the Denarau Direct Mortgage Fund. In this Privacy Policy, “Fund” means the Denarau Direct Mortgage Fund. We are bound by the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) and the credit reporting provisions under the Privacy Act, upon which this policy is based.

The directors of Denarau have a wealth of knowledge and experience in property developments, banking, investment, commercial finance, loans management, investment management and debt recovery.

Denarau aims to provide Investors with consistent returns by providing a high level of service and acting at all times ethically, with integrity and professionalism. Denarau is committed to its Investors and its staff are experienced in funds management, mortgage lending and loan management.

Mortgage investments are sourced by Denarau direct from borrowers or through current contacts and a professional network of finance brokers and introducers. Mortgages are assessed by Denarau in accordance with its credit policy.

The mortgage investments are managed by Denarau and provide the security of a registered mortgage over real property and provide for the income required to make income distribution to Investors (subject to repayment by the borrower).

Alan Gale

Alan is the director of the Trustee, director of Denarau, and a responsible manager for the Trustee’s AFSL 540109.

Alan is an authorised representative of the Trustee.

Alan brings a wealth of experience in Banking & Finance, with a Financial Services career spanning over 25 years.

He has held senior leadership roles at Macquarie Bank and Suncorp Metway and has managed full external financing requirements for large property developers. Over the last 10 years Alan has acted on behalf of family offices, Institutional investors and high net worth investors in placing capital in senior debt facilities backed by Australian property.

As well as his role with the Trustee and Denarau, Alan is the founding principal of Altren Capital, a multi-disciplinary provider of tailored debt and equity solutions to the property development industry and corporate borrowers.

Alan holds an MBA and Masters in Accounting from Bond University. With this, and his extensive experience, he has become an expert in identifying prospective opportunities, detailed analytical assessment of project finance and lending proposals, together with building quality relationships. He is respected by borrowers for his ability to structure complex deals and successfully fund large projects.

Scott Smith

Scott is the director of the Trustee, director of Denarau, and a responsible manager for the Trustee’s AFSL 540109.

Scott is an authorised representative of the Trustee.

Scott has over 20 years’ experience in the banking and finance sector gaining extensive experience in property finance, rural banking, business and commercial banking. He has held the role of Property Finance Relationship Manager at a major Australian bank, specialising in property development and commercial investment lending. Scott has also held a general management role within the private finance sector managing the team running a $280 million loan portfolio incorporating business and commercial property lending.

Scott has also held positions in the risk and recovery division of a major bank, specialising in managing the turnaround and recovery of impaired business loans and commercial property loans.

Scott holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree majoring in Valuation and Property and a Master’s Degree in Property Investment and Development. This knowledge and experience in the business banking and property sectors has enabled Scott to develop his skills in loan origination, loan management, structuring, negotiation and management of impaired loans.

Scott’s focus is to utilise this expertise to provide optimal investor returns through comprehensive credit assessment and intensive loan management.
